August 04, 2009: After pondering for a while today we finally decided to present a topic close to our hearts: Recycling Electronic Trash. As the saying goes - charity begins at home - so it was today. We went around the house collecting all unnecessary electronic items lying around in our cupboards, closets, boxes and every nook and corner of our home. In spite of a spring cleaning we were surprised at the amount of stuff we gathered. Here is a snapshot of our current e-trash.

Contemplating on Money RulesOne of the questions that needs to be addressed now is the impact of the present recession on our retirement plans. So far a bull market and a portfolio designed according to basic money rules gave many the hope of retiring early. But the onset of a bear market and the current recession have erased a significant amount of wealth from the portfolios of most Americans.

The notion that our money could work for us rather than the other way around is perhaps no longer valid. And with it, the early retirement plans of many have been dealt a hard blow. According to EBRI (Employee Benefit Research Institute), long-tenured workers nearing retirement have seen their 401(k) accounts shrink an average of 30% over the past 14 months.

Malaysia FBM KLCI: Bullish with improved trading volume expected

The initial upside target of 20,000 mentioned in the last Hang Seng Index notes has been achieved. The best way to look at the Hang Seng is to use a weekly chart.
